Labrador Retriever
The Labrador Retriever is kind, outgoing and eager to please. They are gentle, patient and reliable. They are extremely lovable and crave human attention. They want to be part of their human family. They make good watch dogs as opposed to guard dogs, as they are alert and vigilant, but normally not aggressive. They love to play, especially in water.
The Labrador Retriever is prone to hip and elbow dysplasia. They may suffer from Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and other eye disorders. Labradors that like to eat and without adequate exercise, can become obese.
The Labrador Retriever, also Labrador, is a type of retriever gun-dog. The Labrador is one of the most popular breeds of dog in the United Kingdom and America.
A favourite breed for disability assistance all over the world, Labradors are often trained to aid the blind, those who have autism, to act as a therapy dog and perform screening and detection work for the police and other official agencies. They are very much prized as sporting and hunting dogs.
