Bull Terrier
The Bull Terrier is a comical breed with an imagination and a stubborn streak. The Bull Terrier demands a lot of attention and can become destructive if left alone for long periods of time.
The Bull Terrier is affectionately known as the “kid in a dog suit” due to their clown-like and larger-than-life personality. They are innovative and intelligent yet loyal and easy-going. They are very people-oriented and do not like being left alone for long periods of time.
Bull Terriers do best in an active home where they can get adequate exercise. They need consistent house rules, otherwise they will make up their own. With their terrier nature, they can be aggressive towards other dogs but if they are socialized early they can easily get along with them.
Due to their rambunctious nature, Bull Terriers are not recommended in homes with small children but make great playmates with older children. They may be difficult to train but with consistent, confident leadership, successful training is possible.
Major Health Concerns: Bull Terrier are prone to deafness (whites) and kidney problems.
Interesting Fact: The Bull Terrier also has a mini form known as the Miniature Bull Terrier who possesses the same attributes.
